This Claim in the Gospel of John is More Outrageous to Jews than the Resurrection

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. –the Gospel of John 20

Does it seem remotely credible for a first-century Jew (Thomas) to believe that Almighty God, the Creator of the entire universe, and the Creator of all space and time, would permit Thomas to place a finger or hand inside of Himself (Almighty God)?  At this time it is assumed that the concept of a Trinity did not exist and, more specifically, that Jesus was God incarnate in human flesh.  Nonetheless, this is what Christian apologists and evangelists proclaim.  That is,  that Almighty God permitted Thomas to place his finger or hand literally inside of God incarnate.
