What if Hell Exists, Gary? Aren’t You Taking a Big Risk in Not Believing?

Amy, Christian: I don’t need further evidence [that Hell exists] because I believe the Bible is true. Wouldn’t you sooner accept the fact that hell exists now, while you are still alive and have a choice, rather than to die and find out you were wrong? What a huge regret that could be!

Gary, non-supernaturalist: Wouldn’t you sooner accept the fact that the MUSLIM hell exists now, Amy, while you are still alive and have a choice, rather than to die and find out you were wrong? What a huge regret that could be!

  1. Using the same ole antiquated fear tactic (Pascal’s Wager, as Herald Newman points out) to persuade non-believers. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Let’s use the same tactic, in identical weight, fear, and impact, but putting the Christian theist in the hot seat:

What if Sasquatch and Sasquatchianity really exists!? Is faithfully believed and followed (hunted?) by hundreds of thousands of fanatical followers!? Christian, aren’t you taking a big risk in not believing?

It’s the same level of “faith.” Or the same lack of veracity.

  2. That little word ‘if’ is doing a helluva lot of heavy lifting here. ‘If’ hell exists; here’s news for you, Amy, it doesn’t, regardless of what your ancient fantasy claims.
