So many advancements in archaeological science have been made in the past twenty-five years—and the pace has accelerated since 1999—that involving the views and conclusions of past scholars in support of the biblical text is highly suspect. From a Christian apologetics perspective, then, making a case for the historical credibility of the Bible must now focus on more recent methodologies, data, and discoveries, being careful to utilize pre-1999 material only after meticulous re-analysis in the light of more advanced technologies and current knowledge.
