“At face value, it makes more sense to say Mark was written before A.D. 70, for it seems unbelievable that Mark (whom critics agree was the John Mark mentioned in Acts) would wait thirty to forty years to write down his gospel.”
—William Lane Craig, The Son Rises, p. 103
Gary: What are you drinking, William? Maybe a small fringe of evangelical scholars believe that John Mark wrote the Gospel of Mark but “critics” certainly do not, and for the record, neither do the majority of Christian scholars. Your propensity to overstate (lie about) the strength of the scholarly consensus in favor of your conservative Christian positions is really getting pathetic. Have you ever heard of “Thou shalt not lie”?
When I read quotes such as this it makes my fillings ache. The man is simply a disingenuous arse-hat, and probably a damn liar. Period.
