Why Do Christians and Skeptics View the Evidence for the Resurrection so Differently?

For all of mankind’s existence, superstitious humans have attributed events in nature to gods only to find out through science that there are very natural explanations for these events. So even though we do not yet know the origin of the universe, let’s hold off attributing this event to “god” until we have all the evidence.

But even if there is a god, he/she/they/it could not be Yahweh. Yahweh could not pass a ninth grade science quiz. As just one example of his scientific ignorance, Yahweh believes that a “firmament”, a dome, covers the earth.  No such entity exists.

So let’s review:

–the evidence for the Resurrection is poor.
Therefore the evidence that Jesus was a god is poor.

–the evidence for the accuracy of the prophecies in the OT is poor.
–the archeological evidence for the Exodus is non-existent.
–the geological evidence for Noah’s Flood is non-existent.
–the Creation story is pure fiction. Evolution proves it.
Therefore the evidence that Yahweh exists is poor.

Christians claim we skeptics refuse to believe the evidence for the Resurrection just because we don’t want to. No, we don’t believe the evidence for the Resurrection because the entire Christian story is based poor evidence. It’s as simple as that. I believe that Christians cannot see this because they presume the existence of Yahweh. They assume that evidence for a generic Creator is evidence for Yahweh. It is not.
