If you enter a discussion with any Christian apologist regarding the historicity of the Resurrection of Jesus, what is the first piece of evidence he or she will present? Answer: the empty tomb. In fact, if you listen to Christian apologists such as William Lane Craig, the “empty tomb” is the foundational evidence for the Resurrection. Craig asserts that “all reputable scholars” agree that the tomb was empty. Listen to any debate involving William Lane Craig and the term “empty tomb” will be repeated multiple, multiple times.
The validity of the Christian Faith rises or falls on the Resurrection.
So why, in his many epistles, does the Apostle Paul never mention even once an empty tomb?
