The term Fundamentalism gets thrown around quite a bit. Most people who use it have no idea what it really means. Just recently I got a hate filled blog comment from a homophilic atheist (Gary, hell-bound, soon-to-fry-like-KFC chicken, author of Escaping Christian Fundamentalism blog) misusing the term (I will publish responsible comments of dissenting opinions, but not histrionic ad hominem rants — even if they would be good for a few laughs (Sounds like he’s not a big fan of Paul T. McCain, either).)
…As a matter of fairness, respect and common decency, only groups that refer to themselves as Fundamentalist should be referred to that way by others.

|Pastor Erik? Is that you?|
So you can only call someone a fascist, if he thinks he is a fascist?
So you can only call someone a bigot, if he thinks he is a bigot?
So you can only call someone a gay-bashing, hate-monger, if he thinks he is a gay-bashing, hate-monger?
What do you think of this one, Pastor Erik:
You can only call someone a sinner, if he thinks he is a sinner!
YOU are a fundamentalist, (I don’t know your politics well enough to call you a fascist…yet), bigoted, gay-bashing, hate-mongering…SINNER, Pastor Erik. Put that in your smug, pompous pipe and smoke it.
